In 2005, I embarked on my insurance career, and it didn't take long for me to develop a deep affection for the job. As time went on, I realized that running my own agency was my ultimate goal. It wasn't until November of 2021 that I earned the privilege of becoming a State Farm Agent. I emphasize "earned" because a State Farm Agency is not a business that can be simply purchased; it must be rightfully earned and requires a genuine passion for assisting others. This passion was instilled in me by my family, as I grew up in Bridgeport, CT during the challenging years of the mid-80s and early-90s as part of an immigrant family from Jamaica. Our low-income household saw my mother working two full-time jobs as a nurse aid, demonstrating her no-nonsense attitude and strong work ethic while successfully raising five children.

While owning a business wasn't something I initially envisioned for myself, I can't imagine not being a State Farm agent today. This opportunity has provided me with the ability to create a stable life for my loved ones while also helping my community navigate the uncertainties of everyday life, recover from unexpected events, and pursue their dreams. My achievements with State Farm have paved the way for other young adults to envision a future of financial security for themselves and their families. I am fortunate to be part of a company that invests in the growth of individuals in my community, as State Farm continues to contribute to the development and prosperity of the place I call home.
